Karen Carpenter would have turned 73 years old on March 2, 2023, but sadly, we lost her much too early. Barbara and Julie Hoodenpyl perform our favorite Karen songs, with Bo and Mieke Bruggeman accompanying. We present this celebration of Karen’s music and her beautiful, pure tone. It is one of our most-requested performances.
Milestones Memorial Day Salute Private Event
Barbara, Bo and Julie present a tribute to the brave men and women who have fought to protect our country from harm. The songs span the 40s, 50s, and 60s, with plenty of singalongs, and a special Armed Forces Medley. This is a truly inspirational performance.

Barbara has recruited singing pals Julie Hoodenpyl and Dirk Foley along with Bo Ayars on piano and Paul Mazzio on flugelhorn to present the signature sound of Bacharach/David and to bring back the music of the Swingin’ 60s and Groovy ‘70s. You’ll want to sing along to these gems, and leave humming them!

Barbara, always ready to try something new, tests her mettle as a singer/actress in this original musical by Jeffrey Michael Kauffman. She portrays Ethel Gumm, Judy Garland’s mother as part of an all-star Portland cast, presented by the Fertile Ground Festival, at Lakewood Theatre. Steve Hanneman and the original crew embody the craziness you have come to know and love!
